Helping Macmillan Antrim Appeal

Helping Macmillan Antrim Appeal

23 March 2010

Eye Feel Good will be helping Macmillan's Antrim Appeal with the money that we raise.

Mark Kennedy, Eye Feel Good Secretary, met with Maria McGleenon, Macmillan Fundraising Manager, to discuss ways in which Eye Feel Good can help Macmillan Cancer Support within the local community.

Eye Feel Good will doing all it can to provide assistance to the Antrim Appeal which involves building a 12 bedded specialist palliative care unit for people in the Northern Trust area affected with cancer and other conditions.

The unit will provide the first specialist palliative care beds within the NHS in Northern Ireland.

Macmillan are aiming to raise £2.1 Million pounds for the project which will be located at the Antrim Area Hospital and will allow patients to get specialist palliative care while being close to all the clinical services offered within the hospital. Eye Feel Good will do what it can to contribute to this amazing project.

We have also touched base with the local Macmillan fundraising group and hope to have some good news for them around the time of our May Ball about how much we have actually raised this year.
